About Tru-Built

As at January 2010 Tru-Built has been established for 15 years and has built over 300 homes from Brisbane to Gympie. In many styles from traditional timber houses to rendered skillion roof houses including Queenslanders, loft houses, two stories and split levels.

With over 90 standard designs Tru-Built tends to build on step sites but level sites are becoming a more common place but there is always and emphasise on timber floors.

 

Tru-Built has laid kilometres of timber floors and decking.

Our Business

As timber is a significant part of Tru-Built so is termite protection. Tru-Built was the first builder on the Sunshine Coast to exclusively use timbers which are resistant to termites. Most builders now adopt a similar approach as indicted by the "Blue or Red" framing although at Tru-Built we go a step future. Even our door jambs, skirting, window reveals and architraves are termite resistant.

Hence we offer "Life time termite protection"

 

As the local timber yards and hardware stores would not stock these products we established our own timber yard "Unique Timbers" so we could control the quality of the timber used in our houses and the guarantee of supply.

With our own timber yard we buy in bulk and pass on the these savings to our clients many of whom continue to buy from our timber yard long after there house is finished.

 

We are a debt free family owned and run business.

 

Our Team

 

Rod Soppe is the Managing Director who holds an open builders licence and is the licensed nominee for the R & V Developments P/L which is the entity that runs Tru-Built.

 

Vicki Soppe (Rod's wife of 27 years) does all of Tru-Built's Accounting work.

 

Kelli Anne Soppe (Rod and Vicki's Daughter) is the Office Manger and has been with Tru-Built for 5 years.

 

Peter Gray is the Sales Manager (Rods Brother in Law) and has been with Tru-Built for over ten years.

Rod's Background

 

Rods building background started in Tasmania at the age of 25 when he was the Manager of the design and construct "Turn Key" building division of Boral Cylone.

 

A promotion to Adelaide by Boral Cyclone to run a much larger "Turn Key" division happened at age 30. Million dollar Design and construct projects for the Australian Army, Westlake's redevelopment and large warehouses in China and Victoria we common place.

 

A move to Queensland at age 32 provided the opportunity to establish Tru-Built. Starting of building homes with a heavy timber influence including our signature "Log Cladding" product.
